In the second year, students deepen their skills with units on Storytelling and Social Media Influence, Radio Newsroom, Digital Content Creation, Sport and Entertainment Reporting, and Newsroom Editing and Publishing, offering both practical and theoretical insights into journalism and broadcast media production. The third year includes advanced units such as Radio Newsroom, Investigative and Data Journalism, and TV Newsroom, where students engage in hands-on newsroom experience and investigative reporting techniques. Elective options allow exploration of complementary fields, including photography, communication campaigns, media content strategy, and principles of inclusive communication. Additionally, general recommended electives cover diverse topics such as Indigenous sci-fi and futurisms, studio production, creative writing, event management, marketing, and ethics in business. Opportunities for professional development are available through internships and professional placements, providing real-world industry experience. This course structure supports the development of versatile journalism skills that go beyond traditional reporting, emphasizing social justice, climate change, diversity, and digital media trends.
