COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Psychology (Organisational) consists of 16 credit points of core units, including the compulsory zero-credit-point Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin module completed in the first study period. The course is structured over two years to provide advanced theoretical knowledge, research expertise, and extensive practical training in organisational psychology. In the first year, students study foundational topics including Introduction to Organisational Psychology, Psychological Assessment in Organisations, Issues in Professional Organisational Psychology, and begin their Research Thesis. They also undertake units in Facilitation, Training and Evaluation in Organisations, Applied Methodology for Organisational Analysis, and their first supervised Organisational Placement. During the second year, the program focuses on advanced topics such as Organisational Development and Change Management, Organisational Intervention Strategies and Skills, Occupational Health and Wellbeing, and Leadership Assessment, Development and Coaching. Students complete additional supervised organisational placements and continue their research thesis through to completion. Throughout the course, supervised placements provide valuable real-world experience, allowing students to apply evidence-based psychological principles within workplace settings while developing professional competence. The comprehensive curriculum integrates research, practical experience, and advanced organisational psychology knowledge, preparing graduates for professional registration and careers in organisational consulting, leadership development, employee wellbeing, human resources, organisational change, and workplace performance improvement.
