COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Information Systems consists of 16 credit points, including a compulsory zero-credit-point Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin unit completed in the first study period, 10 credit points of core units, 2 credit points of course elective units and 4 credit points of open elective units. The course structure is designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in managing digital technologies, information systems and business transformation. Core units cover key areas such as Digital Business Analysis, Managing Digital Transformation, Information Technology, Markets and Business Strategy, Enterprise Database Architecture and Governance, Ethics of Digital Transformation, Cyber Security Strategies, Foundation Skills in Data Analysis, Value of Information, Project Management and Information Systems in Practice as a capstone unit. Through these studies, students gain expertise in analysing business needs, managing technology-driven change, applying data-driven decision-making approaches and implementing effective information systems solutions. Elective options allow students to expand their knowledge in specialised areas aligned with their career interests, while developing transferable skills in communication, strategic thinking and project management. The course prepares graduates for professional roles such as business analyst, information systems manager, digital transformation consultant, project manager, technology strategist and other leadership positions in the digital business environment.
