COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Analytics provides a flexible study structure requiring students to complete 8, 12, or 16 credit points, depending on their entry pathway, previous qualifications, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) based on professional experience. The full 16-credit-point program begins with the compulsory zero-credit unit, DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, completed during the first study period to establish essential academic standards and practices. The course includes 11 credit points of core units that develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in business analytics, data management, artificial intelligence, and decision-making. Core studies cover foundation skills in data analysis, business intelligence and databases, value of information, descriptive analytics and visualisation, predictive analytics, enterprise data management, decision modelling, machine learning in business, advanced artificial intelligence for business, cyber security strategies, and decision analytics in practice through a capstone project. Students also complete one credit point from course elective units, allowing them to further specialise in a selected area, along with four credit points of open elective units that provide opportunities for broader learning. Through a combination of analytical techniques, technology applications, and business problem-solving approaches, the program prepares graduates to develop data-driven solutions and pursue careers in business analytics, consulting, data strategy, intelligence, and decision support roles across diverse industries.
