COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business provides a flexible study structure requiring students to complete 8, 12, or 16 credit points, depending on their entry pathway, previous qualifications, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) based on professional experience. The full 16-credit-point program begins with the compulsory zero-credit unit, DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, completed during the first study period to establish essential academic standards and practices. The course consists of eight credit points of core units that develop a strong foundation in contemporary business knowledge and professional skills. Core studies include areas such as environmental sustainability for business, information technology, markets and business strategy, accounts and governance, small business management, project management, artificial intelligence strategies and enterprise applications, research design and analysis, and the applied consultancy project capstone. Students also complete four credit points of course elective units, allowing them to specialise in areas aligned with their career interests, along with four credit points of open elective units that provide further flexibility and opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. The capstone consultancy project enables students to apply business concepts, analytical methods, and strategic thinking to real organisational challenges. This structure combines theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and personalised learning, preparing graduates for leadership, management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and diverse business roles in a competitive global marketplace.
