COURSE CURRICULUM

To complete the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics, students must successfully pass 24 credit points, including the compulsory 0-credit-point Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin unit (DAI001) in their first study period. The course includes 7 credit points of core units that provide essential knowledge and skills across the three disciplines, along with 1 credit point from the Employability sequence to enhance career readiness and professional capabilities. Students select two discipline streams from Politics, Philosophy or Economics, completing 4 credit points of study units from each chosen stream, for a total of 8 credit points. The selected discipline units must include a minimum of 2 credit points at level 3 within each discipline area to ensure advanced understanding. The remaining 8 credit points are completed through elective units chosen from course discipline study units and Employability sequence options, with at least 2 credit points completed at level 3. The course structure allows flexibility while ensuring students develop advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students must complete a maximum of 10 credit points at level 1 and a minimum of 14 credit points across levels 2 and 3, including at least 6 credit points at level 3.
