COURSE CURRICULUM

To complete Deakin University’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Cyber Security, students must successfully complete 40 credit points that integrate legal education with advanced cyber security studies. The course begins with the compulsory zero-credit-point unit, DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, which must be completed during the first study period. Students complete 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Cyber Security, including compulsory zero-credit-point units such as SIT010 Safety Induction Program and STP010 Career Tools for Employability. The cyber security component includes 13 credit points of core units, excluding SIT306, along with two credit points of course elective units and one credit point of SIT-coded elective units. Students must also complete a minimum of four credit points of level 3 SIT-coded units to develop advanced technical expertise. The Bachelor of Laws component contributes 24 credit points, including 18 credit points of core law units covering essential legal principles and professional knowledge. Students also complete one credit point of Work Integrated Learning or practical law elective units, providing valuable experience applying legal skills in professional contexts, along with five credit points of law course electives to broaden their expertise. All academic and practical requirements of both the Bachelor of Cyber Security and Bachelor of Laws must be satisfied, preparing graduates for careers at the intersection of law, technology and cyber security.
