COURSE CURRICULUM

Deakin University’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) requires students to successfully complete 32 credit points, providing a balanced combination of scientific, practical and business-focused learning. The course begins with the compulsory zero-credit unit, DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, which must be completed during the first study period to establish essential academic integrity and ethical standards. Of the total credit points, 16 are completed within the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, consisting of core units that develop knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, human anatomy, health promotion and sport science practice. The remaining 16 credit points are undertaken within the Bachelor of Business (Sport Management), including 15 core units covering areas such as sport marketing, management, finance, governance, law and event management, along with one level 2 or level 3 Business and Law elective that allows students to broaden their knowledge in an area of personal or professional interest. Students must successfully meet all academic and practical requirements of both degree components to graduate. This integrated course structure ensures graduates develop strong scientific expertise alongside business and leadership capabilities, preparing them for careers in exercise science, sport management, athlete support, event management, sports administration, health promotion and the broader sport and recreation industry.
