COURSE CURRICULUM

To complete the Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Master of Architecture, students must successfully complete 40 credit points combining undergraduate and postgraduate architecture studies. The course includes 24 credit points from the Bachelor of Design (Architecture), beginning with compulsory units such as DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin and SRA010 Safety Induction Program, both completed early in the course. The undergraduate component consists of 22 credit points of core units and 2 credit points of open elective units, providing students with essential knowledge in architectural design, technology, sustainability, professional practice and the built environment. The remaining 16 credit points are completed through the Master of Architecture, which includes 12 credit points of core units and 4 credit points of course elective units, allowing students to further develop advanced architectural expertise. To progress into the Master of Architecture, students must complete all 24 credit points of the undergraduate course and achieve a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65. Students with a WAM between 55 and 64 may submit a portfolio and personal statement for consideration. Students who achieve below a WAM of 55 will exit with the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) qualification. Both the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) (S342) and Master of Architecture (S700) requirements must be satisfied for completion.
