COURSE CURRICULUM

To complete the Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours), students must successfully complete 40 credit points that combine requirements from both disciplines. The course includes DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, a compulsory 0-credit-point unit completed in the first study period to support academic standards and respectful learning practices. Students must also complete SRA010 Safety Induction Program and STP010 Career Tools for Employability, both compulsory 0-credit-point units designed to prepare students for safe study practices and future professional environments. The remaining 39 credit points consist of core units that develop essential knowledge and skills across architecture, construction management, design, technology, project management and the built environment. These core units provide students with a comprehensive understanding of architectural practice, construction processes, sustainable design, building technologies and professional industry methods. In addition, students must complete 1 credit point of open elective units at level 2 or above, allowing further exploration of relevant study areas. To graduate, students must meet all course requirements for both the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) (S342) and the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) (S346), ensuring they develop the creative, technical and managerial capabilities required for successful careers in the global construction and design industries.
