COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Analytics at Deakin University is a 32-credit-point double degree that combines commercial expertise with advanced analytical skills to prepare students for data-driven business environments. The course structure consists of 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Commerce and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Business Analytics, with students required to satisfy the requirements of both degrees. The Commerce component includes 8 credit points of core units that provide essential business knowledge, along with one major consisting of 8 credit points that allows students to specialise in a chosen area of commerce. Students must also complete a minimum of 4 credit points of Faculty of Business and Law units at level 3 to develop advanced disciplinary knowledge. The Business Analytics component includes 14 credit points of core units, excluding MIS171, which build skills in data analysis, technology, business intelligence, and analytical decision-making. Students also complete 1 credit point of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) units or an approved international learning experience, providing practical exposure and industry engagement, along with 1 credit point of open elective units for additional learning flexibility. By integrating commerce knowledge with analytics capabilities, this structure enables graduates to develop strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and technical skills for careers in business, analytics, consulting, finance, and technology-focused roles.
