COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Analytics at Deakin University is a 24-credit-point program designed to develop students’ ability to analyse data, generate insights, and support strategic business decision-making. The course begins with the compulsory Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin unit, followed by a structured combination of core studies, practical learning, and elective opportunities. Students complete 15 credit points of core units that build essential knowledge in business analytics, data management, analytical methods, technology, and business problem-solving. The course also includes 1 credit point of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course elective units, providing students with practical exposure and opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world business environments. In addition, students complete 8 credit points of open elective units, allowing them to explore complementary areas, broaden their skills, and tailor their studies according to their career interests. The course structure supports balanced academic progression, with a maximum of 10 credit points permitted at level 1 and a minimum requirement of 6 credit points at level 3 to ensure students develop advanced analytical capabilities. Through this flexible and industry-focused structure, graduates gain the technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and practical experience required to pursue careers in business analytics, data-driven strategy, consulting, and technology-focused business roles.
