COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science at Deakin University is a 32-credit-point double degree that combines interdisciplinary arts education with scientific expertise, allowing students to develop a broad and adaptable skill set. The course consists of 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Arts and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Science, with students required to satisfy the academic requirements of both degrees. The Arts component includes one major consisting of 8 credit points, with remaining units available through an additional major, minor, open elective units, employability sequence, or a combination of these options. Students must complete at least 4 credit points of Arts-coded units at level 3 to develop advanced knowledge in their chosen field. The Science component includes compulsory employability and safety induction units, 9 credit points of core Science units, and one Science major consisting of 6 credit points. Students must complete a minimum of 4 credit points of Science-coded units at level 3 to ensure advanced scientific learning. The course allows flexibility while maintaining academic progression, with a maximum of 12 credit points permitted at level 1 and a minimum of 10 credit points required at level 3.
