COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Information Technology at Deakin University is a 32-credit-point dual degree designed to combine broad creative and analytical skills with advanced technological knowledge. The course structure consists of 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Arts and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Information Technology, allowing students to graduate with expertise across both disciplines. The Arts component includes one major of 8 credit points, with remaining units available through an additional major, minor, open electives, employability-focused units, or a combination of these options. Students must complete at least 4 credit points of Arts-coded units at level 3 to develop advanced knowledge in their chosen field. The Information Technology component includes compulsory units such as Career Tools for Employability and the Safety Induction Program, along with 12 credit points of core IT units, 3 credit points of capstone units, and 1 credit point of IT course electives. Students gain practical experience through industry-focused projects and develop skills in technology development, problem-solving, and professional practice. The course maintains academic progression requirements, including a maximum of 12 credit points at level 1 and a minimum of 10 credit points at level 3.
