COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence (Honours) is a four-year, 32-credit-point program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in artificial intelligence and related technologies. Students complete 17 core units, 3 capstone units, 4 research training capstone units, and additional minor or elective units to tailor their studies. The program begins with foundational subjects in programming, computer systems, discrete mathematics, data science, databases, networking, and mathematical modelling. As students progress, they study advanced topics including data structures and algorithms, computational intelligence, data wrangling, machine learning, linear algebra, deep learning, natural language processing, robotics, computer vision, and speech processing. Practical learning is embedded throughout the course through professional practice, industry placements, and team-based capstone projects that address real-world business challenges. Students can personalise their degree by completing one or two minors or selecting elective units in areas of interest. In the final year, the focus shifts to research training, where students develop advanced analytical and problem-solving skills through research techniques and an honours research project. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, industry engagement, and research experience, preparing graduates for careers in artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, machine learning, and emerging technology sectors.
