COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Engineering in Civil Engineering is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced technical knowledge, engineering design skills, and professional capabilities in civil infrastructure and construction. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through units such as Mechanics of Solids and Numerical Methods, Geotechnical Engineering Analysis, and Construction and Building Materials and Sustainability, gaining expertise in structural behaviour, numerical analysis, soil mechanics, sustainable materials, and engineering design principles. Students further develop their understanding of civil engineering management and environmental systems through units including Civil Engineering Project and Cost Management, Water and Environmental Resources, and specialised options such as Environmental Engineering Management or Biotechnology in Civil Engineering. In the second year, students advance their knowledge through Hydraulic Engineering and Flood Control, System Vibration and Condition Assessment, Integrated Design and Construction, and Design of Foundations. These units provide practical skills in water management, infrastructure assessment, construction integration, and foundation engineering. The program combines theoretical concepts, advanced analysis techniques, and practical applications to prepare graduates for professional roles in civil engineering industries. Graduates develop the ability to plan, design, manage, and assess complex infrastructure projects while addressing challenges related to sustainability, safety, environmental protection, and modern construction practices across areas such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources, and project management.
