COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Engineering in Chemical Engineering is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional capabilities in chemical process engineering. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core units such as Fluid and Particle Processes, Process Synthesis and Design, and Reaction Engineering, developing expertise in chemical processes, system design, and engineering analysis. Students further expand their knowledge through specialised units covering areas such as Process Plant Engineering, Engineering Management and Professional Practice, Flow Assurance, Process Instrumentation and Control, Computational Transport Phenomena, and Mineral Processing. In the second year, students undertake advanced studies through units such as Advanced Unit Operations, Advanced Mineral Processing Techniques, Process Safety and Risk Management, and New Product Development, gaining skills in process optimisation, safety management, innovation, and industrial applications. Students can also select elective units including Fuel Cell Technology and Applications, Advanced Biofuels and Biochemicals, and Flow Assurance to tailor their studies towards emerging areas of chemical engineering. The program combines theoretical learning, engineering design, practical problem-solving, and industry-relevant knowledge to prepare graduates for professional roles in chemical processing, energy, resources, manufacturing, environmental engineering, and related industries. Graduates develop the ability to design, analyse, and manage complex engineering systems while addressing sustainability and technological challenges in modern industries.
