COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Accounting in Advanced Accounting is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced accounting knowledge, analytical abilities, and professional skills required for careers in accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through units such as Financial Principles and Analysis, Fundamentals of Business and Corporations Law, Intermediate Financial Accounting, and Intermediate Management Accounting. They further enhance their expertise through Accounting Systems in the Digital Age, Intermediate Corporate Accounting, Business Analytics and Data Visualisation, and Global Managerial Economics, gaining knowledge of financial reporting, digital accounting systems, business analysis, and economic decision-making. In the second year, students undertake advanced studies through Accounting Research Project, Applied Auditing and Risk Assessment, Contemporary Accounting Issues, Fundamentals of Australian Tax Law, and Analysis and Visualisation of Financial Data. Students can also select specialised options including CPA-focused units in strategic management accounting, ethics and governance, financial accounting, audit and assurance, and contemporary business issues, along with subjects in finance, investment, internships, and professional experiences. The program combines theoretical knowledge, practical application, and industry-focused learning to prepare graduates for professional accounting roles. Graduates develop the skills required for financial analysis, auditing, compliance, risk assessment, corporate reporting, and strategic business decision-making in local and global accounting environments.
