COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Information Systems and Technology in Information Security is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced skills in cybersecurity, information systems management, and the protection of digital assets. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in information technology through units such as Designing Database Systems, Introduction to Programming, Systems Analysis, and Technological Infrastructure. They further develop their understanding of business and technology integration through Business Project Management, Data Management, Information Systems Management, and the Societal Impact of Technological Innovation. In the second year, students specialise in information security through units including Computer Forensics, Enterprise Network Security, and Information Security Audit and Control. These subjects provide students with knowledge of digital investigation, network protection, security assessment, risk management, and strategies for safeguarding organisational information systems. Students can also select additional learning options such as Commerce Internship, Study Tour, Sustainability and Global Business Study Tour, Advanced Critical Reflection, Information Systems Implementation, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Artificial Intelligence in Business: Strategy and Management to broaden their professional expertise. The program combines technical knowledge, practical applications, and industry-focused learning to prepare graduates for careers in cybersecurity, information security management, security consulting, digital forensics, IT governance, and technology risk management roles across diverse organisations.
