COURSE CURRICULUM

The program develops interdisciplinary knowledge by integrating principles and concepts from political science, sociology, history, human geography, and area studies to deepen understanding of human rights and global engagement. Students learn to apply human rights principles in both professional and community contexts, strengthening their ability to address real-world issues with informed and ethical approaches. A key focus is placed on critical and creative thinking, enabling learners to examine the opportunities and challenges of contemporary global engagement while identifying the interconnections between local, regional, and global systems in shaping equitable and sustainable futures. The course also builds strong communication skills, allowing students to clearly and effectively present complex analyses of human rights and global engagement theories and data in both written and verbal forms. The program emphasises respect for diversity, including Indigenous values and knowledge systems, and encourages engagement with theories that critically examine exploitation and inequality.
