COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence major is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence, with a strong focus on machine learning, intelligent systems, and emerging AI technologies. The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how AI methods are developed, applied, and evaluated across complex real-world environments. In the first year, students build foundational expertise through units such as Decision Methods and Predictive Analytics, Neural Networks and Statistical Machine Learning, Industrial Automation and Robotics, and Planning and Handling Uncertainty in Machine Learning. These subjects develop essential skills in predictive modelling, machine learning algorithms, automation, robotics, and managing uncertainty in intelligent systems. In the second year, students advance their knowledge through specialised units including Advanced Artificial Intelligence Research Topics, Explainable Approaches to Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Search and Logic Approaches in Machine Learning. The program explores advanced AI concepts such as neural networks, explainable AI, intelligent decision-making, autonomous learning, and computational problem-solving. Through a combination of theoretical understanding, research-focused learning, and practical applications, students develop the analytical and technical capabilities required to design, assess, and implement AI solutions. Graduates are prepared for careers in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, automation, research, and technology-driven innovation across a wide range of industries.
