COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Commerce in Finance is a two-year postgraduate program designed to develop advanced financial expertise, analytical capabilities, and strategic decision-making skills for careers in the global finance sector. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in business and finance through units such as Business Analytics and Data Visualisation, Business Project Management, Financial Principles and Analysis, and the Societal Impact of Technological Innovation. They further develop their knowledge through Business Research Methods, Corporate Sustainability Immersion, Financial Statement Analysis, and Integrated Financial Instruments and Markets. In the second year, students advance their specialist finance skills through units including Advanced Corporate Finance and Theory, Portfolio Management Theory and Applications, Investments and Fund Management, Finance Trading Strategies, Alternative Investments, and International Finance. Students also complete Executive Education and explore complex business challenges through Wicked Problems. The program provides opportunities for practical industry engagement through options such as the Commerce Clinic, Commerce Internship, Study Tour, Sustainability and Global Business Study Tour, or Applied Business Consulting. Through a combination of financial theory, analytical tools, industry practices, and applied learning experiences, students develop expertise in investment management, corporate finance, financial markets, risk analysis, and strategic financial decision-making, preparing graduates for professional roles across banking, investment, consulting, and corporate finance sectors.
