COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems and Networking course structure is designed to progressively build technical knowledge and practical skills over three years. In Year 1, Semester 1, students study engineering foundations and hardware fundamentals, along with a choice between programming units and mathematics options such as introductory mathematics or linear algebra and statistics. Semester 2 focuses on core computing subjects, including computer systems, data structures and algorithms, electronics, and Unix and C programming. In Year 2, Semester 1, students explore data communications, network management, operating systems, and transmission design, while also selecting electives to broaden their learning. Semester 2 continues with database systems, engineering management, and microcomputers, along with additional elective choices. In Year 3, Semester 1, students undertake a computer technology project, study distributed networks and Internet of Things design, and choose from advanced topics such as machine learning, software engineering, or cryptography. In Semester 2, students complete a second project along with embedded systems engineering and network engineering, plus further elective options. Overall, the course combines foundational knowledge, advanced technical subjects, and practical projects to prepare students for careers in computer systems and networking.
