COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts double degree is structured to provide students with an interdisciplinary education that combines scientific expertise with a deeper understanding of society, culture, communication, and human experiences. Over the course of four years, students complete a selected double degree major that integrates both Science and Arts disciplines. Students can choose from a range of Arts-focused majors, including Anthropology and Sociology, Chinese, Geography, International Relations, Japanese, Digital and Social Media, and Professional Writing and Publishing. Alternatively, students may select Science-focused majors such as Chemistry, Marine Science, Data Science, Environmental Biology, Mathematics, or Physics, depending on their interests and career goals. Throughout the program, students develop technical knowledge, analytical skills, research abilities, and communication expertise across their chosen fields. The Science component provides strong foundations in scientific methods, data analysis, experimentation, and problem-solving, while the Arts component enhances understanding of social systems, cultures, global issues, and effective communication strategies. The flexible structure allows students to tailor their studies to align with future career pathways in areas such as research, education, science communication, technology, government, environmental management, policy development, international relations, and community engagement. Graduates emerge with a broad skill set that enables them to connect scientific innovation with social understanding and contribute effectively to complex challenges in a rapidly changing world.
