COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology and Human Resource Management degree is a four-year program that combines scientific study of human behaviour with practical knowledge of workplace management and organisational practices. In the first year, students develop foundational skills through subjects such as Introduction to Psychology, Foundations of Psychology, Science and Professional Practice in Psychology, Professional Health Practice, Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Indigenous Cultures and Health Behaviours, and Strategic Career Design, while commencing their Human Resource Management major. The second year focuses on psychological research and human behaviour through subjects including Experimental Methods, Psychology of Learning, Social Psychology, Brain and Behaviour, Child Developmental Psychology, and Correlational Methods, alongside elective studies. In the third year, students advance their research capabilities through Qualitative Methods, Mixed Methods Research in Health Psychology, and studies of Perception. The final year develops advanced psychological understanding through subjects such as Abnormal Psychology, Cognition, Individual Differences, Adult Developmental Psychology, Community Psychology, and Indigenous and Cross-Cultural Psychology. Students also have opportunities to complete practical experiences through business clinics, internships, study tours, international business projects, or innovation-focused units. This interdisciplinary structure equips graduates with knowledge of psychological principles, workplace behaviour, employee management, research methods, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in human resources, organisational development, employment services, community support, consulting, training, and further postgraduate research in psychology or related fields.
