COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mathematics program is structured to develop students’ advanced mathematical knowledge, analytical skills, and ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world challenges. After completing foundational studies in the first year, students progress to specialized coursework in the second year, beginning with Calculus 2 and Mathematical Computing. These subjects strengthen students’ understanding of advanced calculus techniques, computational methods, and the use of technology to solve mathematical problems. In the second semester, students study Computational Mathematics and Linear Algebra 2, developing skills in numerical techniques, mathematical structures, matrix analysis, and applications of algebraic methods. In the third year, students expand their expertise through advanced units such as Complex Analysis or Numerical Optimisation, exploring areas of theoretical mathematics and practical problem-solving methods. Students also undertake studies in Present and Future Mathematics or STEM Professional Practice, gaining insight into emerging mathematical fields or developing professional skills. The program includes an Industrial Project, allowing students to apply mathematical knowledge to practical industry-based challenges. Students further specialize through Applied Mathematical Modelling or STEM Professional Practice, enhancing their ability to create models, analyze systems, and communicate mathematical solutions. Overall, the course equips graduates with strong computational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities for careers in research, finance, data analysis, engineering, technology, and industries requiring advanced mathematical expertise.
