COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science double degree is a five-year program that combines comprehensive legal education with specialised scientific training. In the first year, students complete foundational law subjects including Legal Foundations, Legal Research and Writing, Business, Law and Regulation, and Indigenous Peoples, Law and Justice, while beginning a selected Science stream. Students choose one of six majors—Chemistry, Data Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Biology and Ecology, Environmental Science, or Information and Communication Technology—and follow the corresponding first-year stream, major, and specialisation or minor. During the second and third years, students continue their chosen Science major while completing core legal subjects such as Contract Law and Tort Law, developing expertise in both disciplines. The fourth year focuses on advanced legal studies, including Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Administrative Law, Evidence, Equity, Corporate Law, Civil Procedure, Professional Responsibility, and Statutory Interpretation. In the final year, students complete Trusts and choose 75 credit points of specialised law electives from areas such as Environmental Law, Energy Governance, Human Rights Law, Intellectual Property, International Commercial Law, Law and Technology, Consumer Law, Employment Law, Public International Law, and Legal Internship. This integrated structure equips graduates with strong scientific expertise, legal knowledge, analytical abilities, and practical skills for careers in law, science, technology, research, government, and industry.
