COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science (Psychology) double degree is a six-year program that integrates legal education with comprehensive studies in psychology. During the first three years, students establish a strong legal foundation by completing core subjects including Legal Foundations, Legal Research and Writing, Indigenous Peoples, Law and Justice, Business, Law and Regulation, Contract Law, and Tort Law, while progressing through the Psychology major. The psychology component provides extensive knowledge of human behaviour, cognition, development, mental processes, research methods, and psychological assessment, enabling students to understand and analyse individual and group behaviour from a scientific perspective. In the fifth year, students complete advanced law units covering Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Statutory Interpretation, Property Law, Administrative Law, Criminal Responsibility and Procedures, Evidence, Equity, Corporate Law, Civil Procedure, and Professional Responsibility, developing the competencies required for legal practice. During the final year, students study Trusts and select 75 credit points of specialised law electives from areas such as Family Law, Human Rights Law, Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Public International Law, Law and Technology, Environmental Law, Consumer Law, and Legal Internship. Students also complete 600 credit points in the Psychology major, graduating with interdisciplinary expertise and practical skills for careers in law, psychology, criminal justice, policy, and related professional fields.
