COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Management course provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices and technologies required to manage residential, commercial and infrastructure construction projects. The program combines technical knowledge with management skills, preparing students to coordinate complex construction activities, improve project efficiency and deliver sustainable built environments. Throughout the degree, students develop expertise in areas such as building construction, measurement, safety and quality management, construction planning, estimating, cost control, contracts, procurement and digital construction technologies. Early studies introduce fundamental concepts including low-rise and high-rise construction, structural systems, sustainability and management practices, while later units focus on advanced topics such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), construction scheduling, virtual design and construction, and sustainable construction methods. Students also have opportunities to specialise in areas such as quantity surveying, property, urban design and planning, applied finance, innovation and entrepreneurship, or interior architecture. The course incorporates industry-informed learning and practical approaches to ensure graduates are prepared for professional roles in the construction sector. In the final year, students can undertake an honours pathway or advanced construction management studies, further developing research, leadership and analytical capabilities. Graduates will be equipped with the skills needed to manage construction projects effectively and contribute to the future development of the built environment.
