COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma of Performing Arts is an intensive, practice-driven program designed to immerse students in the creative, technical, and collaborative foundations of the performing arts industry. Completed over two trimesters of full-time study, the diploma offers a fast-tracked pathway for students who are passionate about performance and wish to progress into a bachelor degree, subject to academic performance. Throughout the course, students engage deeply with theatre studies, acting practice, and production processes, building a strong understanding of how performances are conceived, developed, and realised. Units such as Theatre Studies 1 and Theatre Studies 2 provide essential historical, cultural, and analytical perspectives, helping students develop critical thinking skills alongside creative insight. Practical training is central to the program, with Acting Foundations supporting the development of voice, movement, character, and performance confidence, while Theatre Making introduces students to the creative and technical elements involved in staging a production. A key highlight of the diploma is the Ensemble Production unit, which allows students to collaborate in a live performance environment, simulating real industry conditions and reinforcing teamwork, professionalism, and adaptability. Creative Foundations and Industry Foundations further strengthen the learning experience by developing transferable skills, professional awareness, and an understanding of creative career pathways. Small class sizes and hands-on learning ensure students receive personalised guidance and meaningful performance opportunities. By the end of the diploma, graduates have gained practical experience, creative discipline, and foundational industry knowledge, preparing them for further study or entry-level roles within the performing arts sector.
