COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the Music Production course, students develop a solid foundation through a blend of technical skills, creative practice, and industry knowledge. The curriculum begins with essential recording and mixing courses, Mixing Foundations and Recording Foundations, where students learn the fundamental techniques for capturing and shaping sound. This technical expertise is complemented by composing and producing units such as Composing & Sequencing and Creative Software Practice, which introduce students to music composition, digital sequencing, and the use of industry-standard software. To further build their skills, students engage in Music Production Foundations and Technology in Performance, which focus on integrating technology into live and studio performance settings. Supporting these core areas are Creative Foundations and Industry Foundations courses that nurture creativity and provide practical insights into the music industry’s operational and professional environment. Together, these subjects equip students with a comprehensive skill set that balances artistic creativity, technical proficiency, and industry awareness, preparing them to progress confidently into more advanced music production studies and a successful career in the music business.
