COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma of Event Management at Collarts is an intensive program designed to be completed in two trimesters (approximately eight months) of full-time study, with the option to progress into the Bachelor of Event Management, subject to academic performance. The curriculum is structured across four key streams: Context, Principles, Practice, and Creative Foundations, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the events industry. In the Context stream, students study Contemporary Entertainment and Event Fundamentals (EVMCEES) and Audience Engagement and Experience (EVMAEE), gaining insight into the structure, purpose, and impact of events, as well as strategies to create meaningful audience experiences. The Principles stream includes Sustainable Event Management Principles (EVMSEMP) and Event Marketing and Publicity (EVMEMP), equipping students with knowledge of ethical, environmentally responsible practices and marketing strategies necessary for successful event promotion. Practical skills are developed through units such as Event Design and Planning (EVMEDP) and the Social Impact Event Project (EVMSIEP), allowing students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, manage logistics, and deliver events with measurable social outcomes. Complementing these streams, Creative Foundations (CRFCRFS) and Industry Foundations (CRFIFOS) build broader creative capabilities and professional industry awareness, preparing students to navigate workplace environments effectively. Through this combination of theory, hands-on practice, and professional development, the diploma ensures graduates acquire the technical, organisational, and creative skills needed to succeed in event management roles. Students also gain experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and project delivery, forming a strong foundation for further study in the Bachelor program or entry into the events industry.
