COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the Digital & Social Media program, students develop a solid foundation across various aspects of media, design, and communication. The context stream includes courses such as Persuasion and Representation, which explores how media influences audiences, and Media & Society, which examines the relationship between media, culture, and social change. In the principles stream, students study Design Principles, Elements and Colour, learning how to create visually effective content, alongside Content Strategy, which introduces the planning and management of digital content to engage audiences effectively. The practice stream focuses on hands-on skills, including Digital Photography to develop technical and creative photographic abilities, and Copywriting to craft compelling written content tailored for different media platforms. Alongside these, the program includes Creative Foundations and Industry Foundations courses, which provide students with an understanding of creative processes and insights into the digital media industry, preparing them for professional environments. Together, these courses offer a balanced mix of theory, practical skills, and industry knowledge, ensuring students are well-equipped to progress into more specialized areas of digital media and social media marketing.
