COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Event Management is a comprehensive undergraduate program that can be completed in three years of full-time study or through an accelerated two-year pathway. The course is designed to progressively develop knowledge and skills across context, principles, practice, and creative foundations, ensuring a balanced combination of theory, creativity, and practical industry experience.In the first year, students establish a strong foundation in contemporary entertainment and event fundamentals, audience engagement and experience, sustainable event management principles, event marketing and publicity, and event design and planning. Creative and industry foundation subjects introduce students to the broader creative industries while developing essential professional and organisational skills.The second year builds on this foundation by focusing on management and operational expertise. Students study project management, partnerships and funding, managing event stakeholders, event finance and revenue management, and managing event spaces. Innovation in event design, tour management, and creative industries entrepreneurship further develop students’ ability to design, manage, and deliver complex events in diverse industry contexts.In the final year, students refine their professional capabilities through advanced event marketing, event policy and regulation, and event evaluation. A major focus is placed on the event management capstone project and capstone development, which allow students to apply their learning to real-world industry challenges. An elective and an industry placement provide valuable practical experience and enhance employability. Overall, the Bachelor of Event Management prepares graduates with the creative, strategic, financial, and operational skills required to successfully plan, manage, and evaluate events across festivals, venues, corporate, cultural, and community settings.
