COURSE CURRICULUM

The Charles Sturt University Master of Health Professional Practice consists of a comprehensive 128-credit-point structure designed to build advanced healthcare knowledge, leadership capability, and practical professional skills. The program includes 72 credit points of core subjects focused on quality and safety in healthcare, innovation and change management, healthcare law and ethics, research in health practice, and Indigenous Australian cultures, histories, and contemporary realities. Students also complete two professional health internships that strengthen teamwork, reflective practice, and industry readiness through practical workplace experience. In the compulsory component, students choose either Digital Health Management or Social Perspectives on Health: Equity, Culture, and Health Systems, allowing them to develop expertise in emerging healthcare priorities. The degree offers two specialisations: Digital Health and Health Service Management, each worth 32 credit points, enabling students to align their studies with career goals in healthcare leadership, administration, technology integration, and service delivery. Additionally, students complete restricted elective subjects in areas such as health leadership, workforce management, financial management, digital health leadership, and global health policy. This balanced curriculum combines theoretical learning with practical experience to prepare graduates for leadership and management roles across contemporary healthcare systems in Australia and internationally.
