COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a Civil Engineering major provides students with comprehensive technical knowledge and practical skills required for professional engineering careers. The core subjects, totaling 176 credit points, build a strong foundation in engineering principles through studies in engineering design, mechanics, mathematics, physics, materials, programming, energy systems, electrical systems, computer-aided design, and project management. Students also complete engineering residency placements and capstone thesis projects, which provide valuable hands-on industry experience and opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. The course includes studies in workplace performance, professional communication, and First Nations perspectives, helping students develop both technical and professional capabilities. Students selecting the Civil Engineering major complete 64 credit points focused on civil engineering concepts and applications related to infrastructure, construction, environmental systems, and sustainable development. In addition, students choose restricted electives that allow them to specialize further in areas such as renewable energy engineering, applied computer-aided engineering, environmental assessment and auditing, or spatial modelling. This flexible structure enables students to tailor the program according to their interests and career goals.
