COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering program is structured over 240 credit points, integrating undergraduate foundation study, advanced postgraduate coursework, specialist technical training, and research experience. It begins with a core undergraduate unit in Mathematics 2A, followed by 70 credit points of undergraduate specialist electives that build essential knowledge in analogue electronics, electrical circuit analysis, electrical machines and power systems, digital systems and computer architecture, data analytics, programming in C, and electromagnetics and communication technology. These subjects provide a strong base in electrical principles, computing, and communication systems. At the postgraduate level, students complete 50 credit points of core units covering sustainability, project management, risk and reliability, machine learning, artificial intelligence, algorithms, and professional engineering practice, developing advanced technical and managerial capabilities. This is supported by 70 credit points of postgraduate specialist electives in areas such as power engineering, analogue devices, digital signal processing, communication systems, power systems analysis, control engineering, and renewable energy systems, ensuring deep expertise in modern electrical and electronics fields. The program also includes 40 credit points of research units, where students undertake academic and industry research development before completing either an industry design project or an academic research thesis. Overall, the course combines theoretical learning, practical application, and research training to prepare graduates for advanced careers in electrical and electronics engineering.
