COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering requires students to complete 160 credit points through a combination of core units, specialist electives, and research-focused study. The program includes 50 credit points of compulsory core units designed to strengthen professional engineering knowledge and modern industry skills. These subjects cover sustainability, project management, risk and reliability, machine learning, artificial intelligence, algorithms, competitiveness, and engineering practice, helping students develop leadership, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities. Students then complete 70 credit points of specialist elective units focused on advanced electrical and electronics engineering topics. These include power engineering, analogue devices, digital signal processing, communication systems, power systems analysis, control engineering, and renewable energy systems. Through these subjects, students gain technical expertise in energy systems, electronics, automation, telecommunications, and sustainable power technologies that are essential in modern engineering industries. In addition, the program contains 40 credit points of research units that build academic and industry-based research skills. Students complete units in academic research and industry research and development before choosing either an Industry Design and Research Project or an Academic Research Thesis. The course structure combines technical specialization, practical application, and advanced research training to prepare graduates for professional engineering careers, leadership roles, and emerging opportunities in electrical, electronics, energy, and communication industries.
