COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Clinical Audiology is a 160-credit-point program consisting of 16 core units designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in hearing and balance assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation. The course combines theoretical learning, clinical training, and research skills to prepare students for professional audiology practice. Core units include foundational subjects such as Theoretical Foundations of Hearing, Hearing Assessment, and Introduction to Clinical Practice, which build essential understanding of auditory science and clinical procedures. Students then progress to more advanced areas including hearing aids, electrophysiological and vestibular assessment, paediatric audiology, and aural rehabilitation, ensuring comprehensive training across all age groups and conditions. Clinical experience is a major component of the program, delivered through three structured clinical audiology placements that provide supervised real-world experience in professional healthcare settings. The course also emphasizes inclusive practice for diverse populations, Indigenous knowledges and wellbeing, and health promotion to ensure culturally competent and community-focused care. In addition, research skills training prepares students to engage in evidence-based practice and lifelong learning. The program includes four compulsory five-day face-to-face intensive blocks where multiple units are delivered alongside work-integrated learning activities. Overall, the degree integrates academic study, clinical practice, and research to produce highly skilled audiologists capable of working in diverse healthcare environments.
