COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is a 320-credit-point program designed to develop highly skilled engineers with strong theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, and practical problem-solving abilities. The course includes 150 credit points of core units that provide a strong foundation in engineering principles, mathematics, data analytics, software systems, project management, sustainability, safety, and professional engineering practice. These core subjects ensure students are equipped with essential analytical and professional skills required in modern engineering environments. In addition, students complete 130 credit points of specialist elective units in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, where they study advanced topics such as analogue electronics, electrical circuit analysis, electrical machines and power systems, digital systems and computer architecture, systems modelling and control, electromagnetics, communication technology, embedded systems, programming or machine learning, signal processing, power systems analysis, and control engineering. This specialist stream develops deep technical expertise in electrical systems, automation, communications, and energy technologies. The program also includes 40 credit points of research units, where students engage in academic and industry-focused research, including a major research thesis or industry design project. These components contribute to honours-level learning and professional readiness. Overall, the degree integrates core engineering science, advanced electrical specialisation, and research experience to prepare graduates for careers in power, electronics, telecommunications, automation, and emerging technologies.
