COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Architectural Design is a 240-credit-point degree structured to develop strong foundations in architectural thinking, design practice, and technical knowledge. Students must complete fourteen core units worth 200 credit points, which include progressive architectural design studios such as Architectural Design 1 to 6, focusing on materiality, ecology, theory, urban design, public architecture, and final integration projects. These are supported by essential subjects in building technology, environmental building design, architectural documentation, and architecture history, theory, and practice across multiple levels. The core curriculum ensures that students develop both creative and technical competencies, preparing them for professional architectural practice. In addition to core units, students must select four specialist elective units totalling 40 credit points from complementary disciplines such as environmental design, digital media, art and creative studies, surveying and construction, entrepreneurship, environmental issues, intercultural practice, project management, and humanitarian studies. The program also requires students to complete a minimum of 60 credit points at 300 level or above, ensuring advanced-level learning in later stages of the degree, while limiting lower-level 100 credit point units to no more than 100 credit points. Overall, the course combines studio-based learning, theoretical knowledge, and interdisciplinary electives to build well-rounded architectural professionals capable of addressing environmental, cultural, and technical challenges in the built environment.
