COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Information Technology (Networks and Information Security Major) is a 15-unit postgraduate program consisting of an 11-unit major and a 4-unit minor designed to develop advanced skills in cybersecurity, networking, and secure information systems. The program focuses on designing, managing, and protecting computer networks and developing robust information security policies to ensure secure and reliable business operations. Students begin with foundational units such as Introduction to Programming, Cyber Security and Networking, Information Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design and Development, and Professional Skills and Ethics in ICT, which build essential technical and professional competencies. The course also includes Project Management Concepts to develop planning and project delivery skills in IT environments. Advanced technical units include Network Services and Automation, Advanced Network Security, Information Security Management, and Enterprise and Cloud Networking, which provide in-depth knowledge of modern networking technologies, cloud systems, and cybersecurity frameworks. The major concludes with either a Networks and Information Security Project or a Postgraduate ICT Internship, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world industry settings and gain practical experience. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in cybersecurity, network engineering, IT security management, and cloud infrastructure roles, with strong emphasis on protecting digital systems and ensuring secure enterprise operations in a global IT environment.
