COURSE CURRICULUM

This theatre program offers a balanced combination of practical production experience and theoretical study to develop well-rounded skills in performance and stagecraft. Students engage in multiple production units, including Production 1 through Production 4, which often involve internships or placements, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in real theatre environments. These units provide opportunities to participate in live performances, collaborate with peers, and take on various creative and technical roles, building confidence and professional expertise. Alongside practical training, the course includes subjects such as Theatre: Stage, Screen and Musicals, which explores different performance mediums and styles, and Origins of Theatre, which introduces the historical development of theatrical traditions. Students also study Australian Theatre: Stage and Screen to understand local cultural influences and industry practices, as well as Comedy and Theatre, focusing on comedic techniques and performance styles. By combining experiential learning with academic exploration, the program helps students develop a strong understanding of theatre as both an art form and a profession, preparing them for diverse careers in acting, production, and the broader entertainment industry.
