COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical with Agricultural Machinery major combines core mechanical engineering principles with specialised knowledge in agricultural systems to develop innovative solutions for modern farming. The program begins with foundational units such as Applied Computational Modelling, Engineering Statics, Materials for Engineers, Engineering Dynamics, Fundamentals of Sustainable Energy, Creative Engineering, and Engineering Futures, which build strong analytical and engineering design skills. Students then progress into key mechanical engineering subjects including Fluid Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Maintenance Engineering, Fluid Machinery, Bulk Materials Handling, Design Practice, Materials and Manufacturing, Energy Conversion, and Dynamic System Modelling and Control. These units provide deep understanding of machines, thermal systems, manufacturing processes, and industrial equipment. A strong emphasis is placed on automation and control through Industrial Control and Automation and Introductory Electronics, enabling students to design modern smart farming technologies. Agricultural-specific learning is delivered through units such as Dynamics of Agricultural Machinery and Sustainable Agricultural Engineering, which focus on improving farming efficiency, sustainability, and mechanisation. The program also integrates practical engineering applications through residential school components and hands-on learning experiences.
