COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical with Industrial Automation major combines electrical engineering with advanced automation, robotics, and control technologies to prepare students for modern industrial systems. The program starts with foundational engineering units such as Applied Computational Modelling, Fundamentals of Sustainable Energy, Engineering Statics, Materials for Engineers, and Engineering Futures, which develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Students then progress to core electrical engineering subjects including Electrical Circuit Analysis, Electrical Power Engineering, Signals and Systems, Introductory Electronics, Control Systems Analysis and Design, Power System Analysis and Design, Communication Technology, Electrical Machines and Drives Applications, Embedded Microcontrollers, and Power Electronics. A strong focus of this major is automation and control, with specialised units such as Industrial Control and Automation and Robotics and Autonomous Systems, which train students to design and manage automated industrial processes. Engineering Dynamics further strengthens mechanical understanding for system modelling and performance. Capstone Power and Control Design integrates all learning into real-world engineering projects. Overall, this major prepares graduates for careers in industrial automation, robotics, smart manufacturing, and advanced electrical control systems used in modern industries.
