COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical with Data Analytics major combines core electrical engineering knowledge with computer programming and data science to prepare students for data-driven decision-making in modern electrical systems. The program begins with foundational engineering units such as Applied Computational Modelling, Fundamentals of Sustainable Energy, Engineering Statics, Materials for Engineers, and Engineering Futures, which build strong analytical and technical skills. Students then study key electrical engineering subjects including Electrical Circuit Analysis, Electrical Power Engineering, Signals and Systems, Introductory Electronics, Control Systems Analysis and Design, Power System Analysis and Design, Communication Technology, Electrical Machines and Drives Applications, Embedded Microcontrollers, Power Electronics, and Power System Protection. Alongside these, students develop strong computing and data skills through units such as Programming Fundamentals, Systems Analysis, Database Design and Implementation, Data Science, and Dashboard Design and Visualisation. These units enable students to collect, process, and interpret engineering data for better system performance and decision-making. The capstone project integrates both electrical engineering and data analytics skills in a real-world context. Overall, this major prepares graduates for careers in smart grids, automation, renewable energy systems, and data-driven electrical engineering solutions.
