COURSE CURRICULUM

This Bachelor of Business program is structured to develop strong accounting and finance expertise along with broader business knowledge, requiring completion of 24 units (144 credits). The course includes a core structure of 8 units and offers flexibility through either two eight-unit majors or one major combined with two minors. A key pathway is the combination of Accounting and Financial Planning majors, which prepares students for careers as professional accountants or financial advisers, subject to completion of required professional years, examinations, and regulatory registration. In this pathway, students study core accounting and finance subjects such as Introductory Financial Accounting, Intermediate and Advanced Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Company and Association Law, Principles of Economics, and Taxation Law and Practice A. Since Taxation Law and Practice A appears in both majors, it is replaced in the Financial Planning Major with Property Investment and Finance to avoid duplication. Another pathway is combining the Accounting Major with a Professional Accounting Minor, which aligns students with professional accreditation requirements for CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). The Professional Accounting Minor is only available alongside the Accounting Major. Overall, the program builds strong analytical, financial, and regulatory knowledge, preparing graduates for careers in accounting, financial planning, auditing, taxation, and corporate finance within professional and global business environments.
