COURSE CURRICULUM

This program, based on a full-time study load with a January start, provides a structured pathway to develop expertise in sport management and related disciplines, with the option to accelerate completion in one year. In Semester 1, students gain foundational skills in planning and executing events, understanding and managing organisational behaviour, and making financial decisions to maximise organisational value. Semester 2 focuses on marketing fundamentals essential for managing profitable customer relationships and sport partnerships, alongside a general elective which may include an international study tour or business internship, providing practical exposure and flexibility in learning. By Semester 3, students explore the role of the sport industry as a provider of products and services, learn to analyse and manage data effectively for organisational needs, and choose a subject tailored to their interests, such as entrepreneurship and innovation or managing strategic change. In the final Semester 4, students deepen their understanding of sport-specific contexts, including sport law and governance, and develop skills for managing elite athletes, coaches, and key stakeholder relationships. This semester also allows students to undertake a chosen elective, further specialising their knowledge. Overall, the program combines theoretical foundations, practical application, and specialised learning, equipping graduates with the skills, knowledge, and professional competence to succeed in sport management, administration, and leadership roles within the global sports industry.
