COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of International Relations / Bachelor of Laws is a 400-credit-point double degree that can be completed in 3 years and 4 months across 10 semesters. The program includes 320 compulsory credit points and 80 elective credit points, with a typical Bond subject carrying approximately 10 credit points. Students complete three Core Curriculum subjects covering Critical Thinking and Communication, Responsibility, Integrity and Civic Discourse, and Collaboration for Global Change, along with the compulsory Beyond Bond Program, which develops professional and employability skills. The Law component requires 170 credit points of core subjects, covering Legal Foundations, Private Law, Public and Criminal Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Constitutional Law, Corporate Law, Equity, Administrative Law, Evidence, Civil Dispute Resolution, and Legal Profession. The International Relations component includes a 60-credit-point foundation major in International Relations, providing students with knowledge of global politics, international affairs, diplomacy, governance, and related issues. Students then choose one additional 60-credit-point major from Cyber Security, Diplomacy, People and Culture, or Regional Studies, allowing them to tailor the degree toward their career interests. In addition, students must complete 70 credit points of Law electives from the Law Faculty undergraduate elective offerings, providing opportunities to explore specialised areas of legal study. Overall, the curriculum combines legal knowledge with international relations and specialised interdisciplinary study, while developing communication, analytical, negotiation, advocacy, research, and professional skills relevant to careers in law, diplomacy, government, international organisations, cybersecurity, policy, and global business.
