COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the Bachelor of Arts program at Bond University, students focus on developing core interpersonal and professional skills that are essential for success in both academic and workplace settings. Through Bond’s distinctive core curriculum, all students complete subjects designed to build communication, leadership, and ethical reasoning. These are complemented by participation in the Beyond Bond program, a compulsory, activity-based professional development initiative that encourages practical engagement and ongoing skill enhancement throughout the degree. Alongside these core components, students are introduced to creative writing subjects that help them develop foundational skills in storytelling, creative thinking, and narrative construction. These subjects encourage original thought and provide the tools needed to express ideas effectively across a range of creative forms. Importantly, students are also able to begin shaping their academic journey by selecting two majors: one from a creative discipline and one from the fields of humanities or business, chosen from a list of approved university majors. This flexible structure allows students to pursue diverse interests while building a broad, multidisciplinary base.In the second year, students begin to specialise more deeply in their chosen majors. The subjects in this stage of the program are designed to strengthen knowledge and skills in the selected fields and prepare students for advanced creative or analytical work. Students also have the opportunity to choose three general elective subjects from across the University, providing additional flexibility to explore topics outside their main areas of study. The program culminates in a Capstone Project, a significant piece of individual or collaborative work that allows students to apply their learning to a real-world context. This project could take the form of creative writing, media production, communication strategy, or another professional or artistic output, offering students the chance to create a portfolio-ready piece that showcases their capabilities.
